🏡 Enclosure

Size

•At minimum:

•Height: 3× the mantis’s body length

•Width/Depth: 2× body length

•For adults: 12×8×8 inches (or similar) is perfect.

Ventilation

•Good airflow is essential to avoid mold.

•A mesh or front-vented enclosure is ideal.

Climbing Surfaces

•Provide plenty of sticks, fake plants, or cork bark.

•The mantis must have a top area it can hang from for molts.

•Occasional treats: wax moths, mealworms (only hand-fed to avoid burrowing)

•Nymphs: every 1–2 days

•Sub-adults/Adults: every 2–3 days

•Remove uneaten prey after a few hours.

Important

•Do not feed 24–48 hours before or after a molt.

•Mantises stop eating, become sluggish, and hang upside down when preparing to molt.

•Increase humidity slightly during molts (one gentle mist).

•NEVER disturb or move a molting mantis.
